ABOUT
Esther Wen makes quiet photographs of inhabited places. Her work follows the residue of presence — laundry, rooms, late afternoons — rather than the people themselves. She works exclusively on medium format film, in long visits that often last entire seasons. Silent Weeks is her second monograph; it was made across one continuous autumn in a village she does not name.
Twenty-four photographs. One autumn.
